WEEK 2 Almost done

Tomorrow I will finish my 2nd week of training. I have to say that running has become noticeably easier this week. I am only writing tonight as a challenge to myself. Tomorrow I challenge myself to run 5 miles. Can I do it?????? We'll see

It all begins

This is my first entry on my training log blog. I want to use this to hopefully keep a running tally on my training for my first half marathon.

Coleen approached me over 3 weeks ago about this race. It usually takes me less than a second to decide to do anything. This however took about 2 weeks for me to settle on. I knew I always wanted to run a Half Marathon, but now that it was really staring me in the face it scared the hell out of me. I guess the thing that scared me the most was having someone to do this with. Normally when I take a project on I go solo with no one watching. So if I decide at some point to quit it's no big deal and no one is the wiser. Now that I have someone to hold me accountable I feel much more nervous. The other big item that was on my mind, and I guess it still is, is the 13. 1 miles staring me in the face. Can I really do it? I dont know, but I am going to give it my best.

So, it's on to Baltimore to run the Blue Cross Blue Shield Baltimore Half Marathon on October 11th.

My training schedule is blocked of into a 13 week program seen HERE
I guess we'll have to just wait and take it one run at a time.

My first week of training went ok.
Monday-Biked
Tuesday- Run 2 miles(pretty tough)
Wednesday -NOTHING
Thursday-2 miles (felt easy)
Friday- NOTHING
Saturday-X-Train for 1hr (moderate)
Sunday- Run 4 miles (very hard)

Let's see what next week brings...
